According to preliminary estimates, Bac Ninh’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) expanded by 9.82% in the first quarter and an estimated 11.14% in the second quarter. Overall, the province recorded 10.56% GRDP growth in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, ranking sixth nationwide and placing Bac Ninh among nine localities achieving double-digit economic growth.

Industry and construction remained the principal driver of economic expansion, growing by 12.55%, including 12.73% growth in industry and 8.78% in construction. As the province’s largest economic sector, it made the greatest contribution to overall GRDP growth, reflecting the sustained recovery and expansion of industrial production, particularly in the processing and manufacturing industries.

The service sector continued to record solid growth of 8.18%, supported by rising demand from businesses and residents amid rapid industrialization and urbanization. Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries grew by 0.4%, contributing to food security and sustainable rural development, while taxes less subsidies on products increased by 5.14%, further supporting economic expansion.

The encouraging results reflect the province’s proactive, coordinated, and flexible policy measures to remove bottlenecks for businesses, improve the investment climate, accelerate public investment disbursement, and effectively harness both traditional and new growth drivers.

At current prices, Bac Ninh’s GRDP in the first half of 2026 was estimated at VND 273.41 trillion, equivalent to 46% of the annual target, providing a solid foundation for achieving the province’s full-year growth objectives.

The province’s economic structure continued to shift toward greater sustainability. Industry and construction accounted for 70.1% of GRDP, followed by services (20.3%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (6.9%), and taxes less subsidies on products (2.7%).

The first-half performance once again highlights the resilience and dynamism of Bac Ninh’s economy, reinforcing its position as one of Vietnam’s leading growth poles and creating strong momentum to successfully achieve its 2026 socio-economic development targets while enhancing competitiveness and promoting rapid, sustainable growth in the years ahead.
