Culture, Sports and Tourism sector summarizes work in 2024
(BNP) - On December 18, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh chaired a national online conference to review the work of 2024 and deploy key tasks of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector (sector) in 2025 with the theme “Building an advanced culture imbued with national identity - The driving force for national development in the new era - The era of the Vietnamese people’s rise”.

At Bac Ninh’s venue, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of departments, branches and sectors attended the conference.
In 2024, the sector thoroughly grasped and promptly implemented the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the National Assembly, with the motto “Discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, speeding up creativity, sustainable efficiency”, and it achieved positive results.
The work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage has changed positively, many cultural heritages have been recognized by UNESCO. The construction of a grassroots cultural environment has achieved encouraging results, contributing to improving the effectiveness of building a healthy cultural environment, promoting the values and roles of family, community and society. Cultural and artistic activities were organized enthusiastically, fulfilling political tasks well and meeting the cultural enjoyment needs of the people.
Vietnamese sports have left many positive impressions at international sports events, winning a total of 1,214 international medals. In 2024, international tourists to Vietnam were estimated to reach 17.5 million, an increase of 38.9% over the same period in 2023; domestic tourists were estimated to reach 110 million, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2023. Total revenue from tourists was estimated to reach about VND 840,000 billion, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2023. Vietnam has been honored as the leading destination in Asia for the fourth consecutive time.
Speaking at the conference, PM Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the entire sector so that the whole country overcome difficulties and challenges, and completed the set socio-economic development goals.
After the conference, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan requested the Bac Ninh’s sector to renew its thinking, leadership style, and innovate methods and ways of implementing tasks. It implements streamlining of the apparatus in accordance with the direction of the province and the Government, especially for units with similar functions and tasks.
He demanded that the Department’s leaders and specialized divisions under the sector would select 10 key tasks, thereby, raising political determination and taking drastic actions to make culture be one of the province’s outstanding highlights in 2025.
