(BNP) - On the morning of January 9th, a delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan worked with Bac Ninh province regarding the investment plan for upgrading and expanding the Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway (Bac Giang - Phu Dong bridge section).
Overview of the meeting.
Receiving and working with the delegation were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan; and leaders of several relevant departments and agencies.
The Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway begins at Km113+985 (at the intersection with National Highway 31) in Bac Giang Ward, Bac Ninh Province, and ends at Km159+100 at the commencement of Phu Dong Bridge in Phu Dong Commune, Hanoi City. The total length of the route is 45.2 km; of which, the section through Bac Ninh Province is 38.23 km long. The entire route currently has 16 intersections with expressways, national highways and main traffic arteries; 5 bridges on the main route, 13 overpasses at intersection locations and 3 pedestrian bridges; in addition, there are 31 pedestrian underpasses (Bac Ninh has 27 underpass locations).

Specifically, the Bac Giang - Phu Dong Bridge section has been upgraded and expanded to a 4-lane road and put into use since 2016 according to the TCVN5729-2012 highway standard, with a speed limit of 100 km/h.

Chairman Pham Hoang Son presented a comprehensive report on Bac Ninh province's socioeconomic progress in recent years, with a focus on transportation infrastructure and industrial zones, particularly along the current Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway. He also expressed his views on the investment plan for the Bac Giang-Phu Dong Bridge section in light of local development realities, and hoped that the Ministry of Construction and the Deputy Minister would personally share their views with the province, continue to pay attention, and create favorable conditions for Bac Ninh province's sustainable development.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai emphasized Bac Ninh province's policy of investing in the expansion of the Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway, ensuring maximum benefits for the people and maintaining the province's competitive advantage and development speed.
He suggested that the Ministry of Construction conduct a comprehensive review of the national transportation system, especially the completion of the Ring Road IV, Ring Road V, and expressways.
Based on that, the Secretary assigned the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to continue working specifically and in detail with the investor to study and agree on the plan and scale of investment for the Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway, and report to the Ministry of Construction and the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee as soon as possible.

Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan agreed to study and consider the implementation plan as proposed by the province. Regarding the fee collection method, he requested that the competent State agencies continue to coordinate with Bac Ninh province to consider the most optimal implementation plan in accordance with the law.
