(BNP) - According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province, in the first six months of 2026, industrial production in Bac Ninh province will continue to maintain positive growth momentum, affirming its role as an important driving force for the province's economic growth.
The electronic component manufacturing sector accounts for the main proportion of the industrial production value structure of Bac Ninh province.
In the first six months of 2026, the estimated industrial production index (IIP) of the province will increase by 19.51% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry - a sector accounting for a large proportion of the province's industrial structure - is estimated to increase by 19.60%; the water supply and waste management and treatment sector is estimated to increase by 26.73%; The electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector increased by 11%.
Many secondary industries recorded high growth compared to the same period last year, including waste collection, treatment, and disposal, and scrap recycling (up 36.38%); electrical equipment manufacturing (up 23.92%); metal production (up 22.25%); other transport equipment manufacturing (up 21.73%); electronic, computer, and optical product manufacturing (up 20.44%); and prefabricated metal product manufacturing (excluding machinery and equipment) (up 17.11%).
The driving force behind industrial growth continues to come from the electronic component manufacturing sector – the sector that accounts for the majority of the province's industrial production value. Many large-scale FDI enterprises such as New Wing, Fukang, Fuhong, Samsung, etc., maintain stable production operations, expand orders, and increase output, contributing to an estimated total industrial production value of approximately VND 1.6 trillion (at current prices) in the first six months of 2026, an increase of 16.17% compared to the same period in 2025.
In the coming period, Bac Ninh province will continue to implement comprehensive solutions to promote industrial development, focusing on selective investment attraction, improving the investment, production, and business environment; supporting businesses in technological innovation, expanding production scale, enhancing competitiveness, and striving to achieve double-digit economic growth in 2026.
