Bac Ninh province strengthens its foreign affairs work to promote green and sustainable economic development

(BNP) - After the merger, in order to effectively exploit development potential along with flexibility in direction, management, investment attraction orientation, upgrading transport and urban infrastructure, economic diplomacy and enhancing care for people's lives as well as in the context of transforming the growth model towards sustainable development, Bac Ninh province is actively promoting foreign affairs to attract green investment, transfer modern technology and expand international cooperation in various fields.

Foreign affairs are viewed as a strategic step toward establishing Bac Ninh as a leader in the development of the Northern region's green economy and circular economy.  With the advantage of being a rapidly rising industrial center, FDI attraction in the province has consistently ranked among the top ten provinces and cities in the country.  The province has attracted numerous significant firms, including Samsung, Canon, and Foxconn...

Up to now, the whole province has 3,304 valid FDI projects with a total investment capital of nearly USD 42 billion. In the first 8 months of 2025, the whole province has attracted over USD 14.2 billion in total converted investment capital. Especially, FDI has attracted 253 projects with a total registered capital of USD 1,497.2 million. Bac Ninh is currently ranked 2nd in attracting FDI capital after Ho Chi Minh City (for valid projects) and ranked 1st in attracting FDI capital in the first 8 months of 2025. The province's GRDP growth rate for the whole year of 2025 is estimated at 11.5% and is in the top 3 localities in the country; the economic scale is estimated at VND 522 trillion, ranking 5th in the country.

Bac Ninh continues to be an attractive destination for both domestic and international investors, particularly for FDI projects in the processing and manufacturing industries located in industrial parks such as Quang Chau, Van Trung, Song Khe – Noi Hoang, and Que Vo 2. Among which, several manufacturing sectors have seen a significant increase in their proportion, including the production of electronic products, optical devices, electronic components, and garments.

Immediately after the administrative boundary merger, the leaders of Bac Ninh province received and worked with 15 foreign delegations to learn about investment opportunities in the province. The provincial leaders also organized participation in foreign affairs activities such as: Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan joined the working delegation of General Secretary To Lam in Korea to attend the Vietnam - Korea Economic Forum; Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee  Mai Son attended the 60th Anniversary of Singapore's National Day in Hanoi; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh visited and worked with the leaders of Nanning city, China...

The meetings with the General Director of Samsung Vietnam (Korea), Kenan Foundation Asia (USA); Global Civic Sharing (Korea); Cooler Master Group (China); Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association; Brazil & Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and many large Chinese enterprises such as Sumec Machinery & Electric Company, Yethan Company and organizations and units of localities such as: Foreign Affairs Office of Weifang City (Shandong Province, China); Foshan City (Guangdong Province, China) ... have opened up many opportunities for the province to cooperate, develop, and access green financial resources and advanced manufacturing technology in all fields.

In addition to strengthening foreign affairs, Bac Ninh province has also issued many preferential policies to encourage domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in the fields of renewable energy, waste treatment, organic agriculture and clean industrial production. At the same time, the province is also focusing on adjusting planning towards green, smart and modern urban areas; ecological industrial parks, reducing pollution, reusing wastewater and utilizing renewable energy.

With strategic vision and decisive action from local authorities, Bac Ninh Province will continue to strengthen its foreign affairs efforts in the time ahead, closely aligned with its green growth and sustainable development strategies. The province aims not only to maintain its position as an attractive investment destination, but also to establish itself as a hub for sustainable and environmentally friendly development. This will serve as a vital foundation for Bac Ninh to achieve deeper international integration and long-term sustainable growth in the new era.
