Promoting lychee export to North American market

(BNP) - On the morning of August 26, Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies chaired a working session with Dragonberry Produce Company (USA) to promote cooperation and prepare necessary conditions to export lychee to the North American market from the 2026 crop season.

At the meeting, representatives from Dragonberry Produce Company reported positive results in exporting Bac Ninh lychees to the North American market in the 2025 crop season, proposed a plan to cooperate in investing in building a lychee processing factory for export from 2026 and expanding the consumption market in this region.

In 2025, Bac Ninh recorded the most successful lychee crop ever: output reached over 205,400 tons, revenue from lychees and ancillary services reached over 6,245 billion VND. The selling price of VietGAP and GlobalGAP lychees remained stable at a high level (25,000 - 35,000 VND/kg), while the export price to demanding markets such as Japan, the United States, the EU, Australia, Canada... was 220,000 - 550,000 VND/kg.

Export output to demanding markets such as the EU and North America in 2025 recorded strong growth. In the 2025 crop, 100 tons of fresh Bac Ninh lychees were successfully exported by Dragonberry Produce Company to high-end markets such as Japan, Canada and the US. Notably, for the first time, Vietnamese lychees officially appeared in the Costco retail system with more than 600 supermarkets in North America.

Also at the meeting, delegates discussed more about mechanisms and preferential investment policies for agricultural processing factories located inside or outside industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh said that Bac Ninh always attaches importance to and creates the most favorable conditions for foreign enterprises and investors, especially in the fields of agriculture and agricultural processing for export. At the same time, he highly appreciated the role of Dragonberry Produce Company in connecting and promoting lychee consumption in the North American market in the last crop season.
