The 23rd Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup
(BNP) - In the morning of March 24, at the area of Ly Thai To King statue, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Bac Ninh Newspaper, Department of Education and Training, Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Public Security jointly organized the 23rd Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup in 2019 under the theme “Heath for working and national defense”.
The provincial leaders hand the honorable flags to the units.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mrs. Dao Hong Lan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, unions; districts, town and city; athletes and a large number of people in the province.
At the tournament, the leaders of the province, all levels and branches, and more than 2,000 athletes, officers, soldiers, polices, youth union members, students, and other forces in the province together run to show the strength.
The 23rd Nagakawa Running Tournament - Bac Ninh Newspaper Cup in 2019 under the theme “Heath for working and national defense” is a practical activity to celebrate the founding day of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26) and Vietnam Sports Day (March 27). Held in conjunction with a wide range of activities to respond to the 2019 Olympic Run Day for Public Health, the tournament created a great movement throughout the society, strongly promoting the movement of physical training and sports among the people. It contributed to improving the living standard to serve the learning and working, national development and defense, gradually raising the stature and physical strength of Bac Ninh people.
Participating in the Run this year were nearly 130 athletes from 10 units including 8 districts, town, city, and Provincial Public Security, Engineering Command 229. The athletes competed in 4 categories including men’s champion with the distance of 5,000 m, women’s champion (3,000 m), under-15-year-old young men (3,000 m) and under-15-year-old young women (2,500 m).
At the end of the tournament, organizers awarded the championship cup to Yen Phong district, the second prize to Gia Binh district and the third prize to Que Vo district. Regarding competition categories, the Organizing Committee also handed the first prize for the content of under-15-year-old young men (3,000 m) to Nguyen Tung Luu (Yen Phong district); the first prize for the content of under-15-year-old young women (2,500 m) to Nguyen Thi Sam (Yen Phong district); the first prize of 5,000m-men-champion to Dang Thach Chien (Que Vo district) and the first prize of 3,000m-women-champion to Nguyen Thi Thu Thao (Bac Ninh city).
