(BNP) - On the afternoon of December 23rd, at the headquarters of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee and Viettel Group held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Viettel was represented by Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, together with deputy CEOs and leaders of departments and subsidiary companies.
At the ceremony, Chairman Pham Hoang Son and Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang signed a Memorandum of Understanding to concretize the viewpoints, objectives, tasks and solutions of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP of the Government in Bac Ninh province.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee and Viettel Group agreed to cooperate on the principles of voluntariness, equality, mutual benefit, and in accordance with their functions, duties, and legal regulations. Both sides will coordinate to leverage Viettel's strengths, experience, and resources in line with the province's practical needs to develop science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and low-income economic development in the province.

The cooperation focuses on key areas such as: raising social awareness of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; sharing experiences and providing policy advice; coordinating planning, investment, and development of telecommunications infrastructure, digital infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, 5G and 6G networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT); building and developing high-quality human resources, prioritizing cutting-edge technology sectors.
Both sides will also promote digital transformation in the operations of agencies within the political system; develop shared databases and digital platforms for management and administration; promote digital transformation in the fields of healthcare, education, transportation, and smart cities; and research and implement solutions for developing low-level economies, logistics, and high-tech infrastructure, while ensuring cybersecurity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, affirmed that Viettel highly appreciates the political determination and strategic vision of Bac Ninh province in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, considering science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driving force for development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son affirmed that the signed Memorandum of Understanding is an important basis for Bac Ninh province and Viettel Group to continue expanding strategic cooperation and effectively building on the results achieved in the past.
Bac Ninh province is committed to directing its departments, agencies, and localities to closely coordinate with Viettel Group in planning and investing in the development of digital and technological infrastructure; creating favorable conditions within the legal framework for Viettel to participate in consulting, supporting, and accompanying the province in building mechanisms and policies, gradually forming a low-level economic ecosystem associated with digital transformation and innovation, contributing to creating new growth drivers for the province in the coming time.
