(BNP) - On the morning of December 19th, Bac Ninh province held the groundbreaking ceremony for the social housing project in Nam Ngan residential area, Nenh ward, which was funded by New Star Housing and Urban Development Joint Stock Company.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Huong; Major General Bui Duy Hung, Director of the Provincial Public Security; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo TanPhuong.
Covering on an area of over 3.3 hectares, the Nam Ngan residential area social housing project (Nen Ward), invested by New Star Housing and Urban Development Joint Stock Company with a total investment of over VND 1 trillion. It includes 3 buildings, 1 basement level, and 18 above-ground floors, providing 846 social housing units designed to commercial housing standards, focusing on construction quality, eco-friendly materials, and providing the best living experience for residents. The commercial and service building is 5 stories high with a maximum construction area of 1,380 m2. The investor aims for completion by June 2027.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong emphasized that the commencement of the social housing project in Nam Ngan residential area is an important event, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party, the State, and the local government for social welfare, especially the issue of housing for low-income workers, factory workers, officials, and policy beneficiaries.
Implementing the Government's plan to build at least 1 million social housing units in the period 2021-2030, the province has so far implemented 96 projects with a total scale of 300 hectares. Upon completion, these projects will provide approximately 10.02 million square meters of floor space with about 120,390 apartments, thereby making a positive contribution to the national goal of social security.
Since the provincial merger, Bac Ninh province has approved investment policies and assigned investors to implement 18 new projects with a total investment of VND 21,980 billion, which would supply approximately 15,890 apartments.
