(BNP) - Implementing the plans of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) on organizing the 2026 Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, trade unions at all levels in the province have implemented many practical activities, focusing on the grassroots, caring for the lives, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
Strengthening dialogue and collective bargaining, promoting propaganda work, developing union membership, and establishing grassroots trade unions.
In the past period, the Provincial VGCL has issued plans and guiding documents to instruct trade unions at all levels to focus on implementing activities according to the theme of Workers' Month, linked to the political tasks of the locality and unit, and the production and business activities of enterprises. At the same time, the directive instructed trade unions at all levels to proactively coordinate with Party committees, authorities, and employers to organize activities to care for union members; strengthen dialogue and collective bargaining; promote propaganda work, develop union membership, and establish grassroots trade unions.
During Workers' Month, the entire province organized 75 dialogues and forums with the participation of over 20,000 union members; received more than 975 opinions and recommendations related to labor policies, occupational safety and health, housing, social welfare, and other issues of vital importance to workers. The forum "Union Members Contribute to Building the Vietnam Trade Union in the New Era" attracted over 150,000 contributions.
Activities to support workers have been widely implemented with many programs such as: stalls for workers, free health check-ups, visits and gift-giving, "Trade Union Meals," and cultural, artistic, and sports activities. Trade unions at all levels have supported workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of over VND 10.1 billion; organized "Trade Union Meals" for more than 277,000 workers with a total budget of VND 18.12 billion.
In addition, trade unions at all levels have promoted the "Labor Skills and Sustainable Employment Day" program, organized activities to improve professional skills and digital skills for workers; recruited over 3,000 new members, established 65 grassroots trade unions, and recommended 468 outstanding members for the Party to consider, train, and admit.
Extensive propaganda efforts were carried out with 568 news articles, reports, and hundreds of media products on digital platforms, contributing to raising legal awareness, promoting compliance with the law, and building a safe and stable working environment.
The activities of the 2026 Workers' Month were organized practically and effectively, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate; thereby further affirming the role of the Trade Union in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
