The Ngo Thon Parish Church is located within the area requiring relocation and land clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport Project – a key national project of special importance to the socio-economic development, national defense, and security of Bac Ninh province and the region.
According to the plan, the land to be returned to the Church has an area of approximately 6,000 m² in the Dong Cuu 1 resettlement area, adjacent to the resettlement area of the parishioners of Ngo Thon village.
The return of land at a new location with a larger area than the old one, along with the completion of procedures for granting land use rights certificates, is an important legal basis, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the religious institution when the State reclaims land for key projects.
Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh speaks at the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh affirmed that the awarding of land use right certificates and the handover of land on-site demonstrate the province's commitment to fully implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on belief and religion; ensuring the legitimate religious activities of organizations and individuals as prescribed.
The Vice Chairman acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination and consensus of the Bac Ninh Bishopric, Ngo Thon Parish Church, religious leaders, officials, and parishioners in the process of land clearance. He hoped that the Bac Ninh Bishopric and Ngo Thon Parish Church would continue to closely cooperate with the local government in managing and using the land for its intended purpose, effectively, and strictly complying with the law; and together build a comprehensively developed, civilized, and modern Bac Ninh.
On behalf of the Bac Ninh Diocese, Parish priest Nguyen Van Khiem expressed gratitude for the attention of the provincial leaders, departments, and local authorities in facilitating the transfer of land for the construction of the church in Ngo Thon to a new, larger, and more beautiful location. He also hoped that the province would continue to pay attention and cooperate in the next steps, quickly stabilizing the land and preparing for the construction of Ngo Thon Church as well as other religious facilities subject to relocation for the project.
The awarding of the land use right certificate for the land returned to Ngo Thon Parish Church contributes to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of religious facilities, creating consensus among the people, resolving difficulties in land clearance, and thereby accelerating the implementation of the Gia Binh International Airport Project as directed by the Central Government and the province.
Following the certificate awarding ceremony, the delegates proceeded to hand over the land on-site to representatives of the Bac Ninh Diocese and Ngo Thon Parish Church as per regulations.
