Bac Ninh: Participation in Food Festival 2016 with worldwide friends
On December 11th 2016, Service Department for Diplomatic Corps (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) organized the 4th Food Festival at Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound.
The main activities taking place in the program included introducing specialties of Vietnam and foreign countries; arts & cultural exchange; exhibiting and selling handicrafts, souvenirs, as well as receiving contributions from departments and individuals to charity.
There were 115 booths of food exhibition from 39 Embassies in Vietnam, representatives of foreign cultural centers, units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Departments of Foreign Affairs, and a number of local businesses and sponsors in Food Festival. For this first partitipation, Bac Ninh Department of Foreign Affairs selected the province's typical products such as Pork Roll from Bui village (Thuan Thanh district), Rice cake with browned onion from Cho village (Yen Phong district), husband & wife cake (Tu Son town), Xuan Lai bamboo folk paintings (Gia Binh district), Dong Ho folk paintings (Thuan Thanh district), ect

Food Festival in this year is a meaningful event held at the time of closing year 2016 and welcoming the new year 2017 with several global milestones. In addition, the program aims to commemorate the establishment of the ASEAN Community, towards the upcoming APEC year 2017, and it is also an opportunity for countries to promote cultural exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, and spread Vietnam's tourism images to worldwide friends by numerous foreign cultural centers and Embassies./.
