Chairman of Provincial People's Committee receives and works with Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam
In the morning of February 8th, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee (PPC) received and worked with Mr. Bo Monsted, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam to discuss the investment environment in the province. Attending the meeting was representative of Department of Foreign Affairs.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Tu Quynh expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Bo Monsted and presented an overview of outstanding achievements in provincial socio-economic development in 2017. Thanks to favorable geographical location, natural conditions, and attractive preferential policies, Bac Ninh has led the country in terms of economic growth with the top indicators. Particularly, the economy scale ranked 4th, the industrial production value ranked 2nd, the educational indexes ranked in the top of the country and the political security was ensured. Up to January 2018, the province has more than 1,000 foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) from 33 countries and territories.
Furthermore, the Chairman Nguyen Tu Quynh also discussed with Mr. Bo Monsted on the challenges in the development process of the province such as environment, transport infrastructure, quality of labor force and consumption habits of people in using clean food. Based on this, he hoped that Mr. Bo Monsted and the Danish Embassy would conduct research and call for investors to invest in the province, especially in the areas of food safety.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bo Monsted thanked the provincial leaders for the warm welcome and congratulated the province on the achievements in the fields in recent years, becoming the leading province, a highlight of the Vietnamese economy. He also wished, in the coming time, the province could facilitate Danish businesses to explore and invest in various areas such as environmental protection, food safety and so on.
For the pilot project of a centralized pig slaughterhouse construction, the Danish side would continue working with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam to undertake an overall assessment of the need for the project. By the end of April 2018, the Embassy of Denmark will finalize the overall research and organize seminars to provide solutions for cattle and poultry slaughtering in Vietnam. With the efforts of the relevant sides, Bac Ninh and Denmark would be implementing the pilot construction of a pig slaughterhouse in Bac Ninh, Mr. Bo Monsted expected./.
