Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee receives and works with delegation of Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Affairs
In the morning of June 8th 2017, at the headquarter of Provincial People's Committee (PPC), Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC had a meeting with delegation of Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Affairs led by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Deputy Head of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. Attending the meeting were leaders of Office of the PPC, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance, Provincial Public Security, the Bac Ninh Union of Provincial Friendship Organizations, representatives of some foreign NGOs and beneficiary units.

At the meeting, Representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs presented the report on NGO work of the province in the period of 2013 - 2017. Accordingly, there are now 11 foreign NGOs operating in Bac Ninh with a total aid capital more than $1.7 billion. By monitoring, the foreign NGOs are complying with national regulations for obtaining, approving and operating effectively. The receiving and using of aid funds are strictly implemented in accordance with regulations. For example, the projects of CAMA (USA) and KFHI (Korea) have benefited greatly in supporting the poor, orphaned, disadvantaged children in Que Vo and Tien Du districts.
Representatives of related departments also frankly discussed with the delegation the advantages and disadvantages of approaching, calling and attracting foreign NGOs to Bac Ninh. The number of NGOs’ aid is still small, in comparison with the FDI acttraction into the province, mainly for education and humanitarian aid, still lack of projects focusing on socio- economic, environmental improvement.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC, affirmed that the projects of foreign NGOs in the province were implemented correctly without any issues related security - politics, greatly contributing to the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh. In order to promote this work in the near future, the Department of Foreign Affairs should be strengthened to attract more aid for the development of foreign NGOs, asked the supports from Committee for Foreign NGOs Affairs in accessing these non-governmental aid resources.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Deputy Head of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee acknowledged Bac Ninh's achievements in aid mobilization and management of foreign NGOs, and suggested the province to continue to pay attention to this work by developing a foreign NGOs’ aid promotion program in the coming time and promise to facilitate Bac Ninh as well as other localities to have chances to acces more potential NGOs.
The delegation was introduced about the Project of KFHI (Korea) Cooperation Center in Tien Du district.
In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation had a field trip to some foreign NGOs’ projects operating in Bac Ninh./.
