Ambassador of Israel to visit and work in Bac Ninh

At the Head Office of Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members received and worked with the Israeli Ambassador on the occasion of his new working term in Vietnam.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien extended his warmest greetings to the Ambassador for his visit in the province and was very impressed with the socio-economic development of Israel, especially the applied technologies for agricultural development. Over the past years, the province has dispatched many delegations to visit and study experience in Israel, he said.

Besides, the Secretary expressed his hope that, during his new term of office, the Ambassador would make an effort to work as the bridge to introduce Israeli businesses to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the province, to enhance technology transfer between Israeli and Vietnamese enterprises at the same time. During his visit and working in the province, the Secretary would also like to receive ideas, comments from the Ambassador on the development of hi-tech agriculture of Bac Ninh.

At the meeting, the Ambassador showed his gratitude for the warm welcome of Bac Ninh province’s leaders. In his position, the Ambassador promised to promote Bac Ninh image to international friends, particularly Israeli businesses and wished to share experience in building smart city for Bac Ninh province by the success of Tel Aviv capital city in this sector.

At the Head Office of Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also had a working session with the Israeli Ambassador on the socio-economic development and investment environment in the province over the past years.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh congratulated the Ambassador on his new term in Vietnam, and at the same time, introduced the overview geo-graphic location and the socio-economic development situation, culture, history of the province. Thank to favorable geopolitical and geo-economic location and rich historical tradition, Bac Ninh has now been one of the fast growing provinces with many of the top indicators in the country.

For open investment policy, Bac Ninh is one of the provinces attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) at first rank of Viet Nam. From the beginning of the year to August 2017, Bac Ninh has attracted USD 2.7 billion, thus leading the number of province’s FDI projects to an increase up to 1,000 with a total registered capital of more than USD 15.3 billion so far. For investment enterprises in the province, Bac Ninh carried out many attractive investment policies, especially prioritized hi-tech, green projects.

Along with the economic development, Bac Ninh has also devoted a lot of resources to making educational, health and social welfare policies. Bac Ninh has been known as a land of rich cultural traditions, home of thousands of historical and cultural relics, prominently Quan ho folk songs recognized as intangible cultural heritage representative of the mankind by UNESCO.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also addressed that Bac Ninh is the leading province in the country on policies to support agriculture and rural areas, especially the application of hi-tech in agricultural production. At present, many farms in the province are in the process of applying the advanced technologies of Israel in agricultural production, bringing economic values and improving famers’ life.

The Chairman hoped the Ambassador to serve as a link, which aims to introduce the potential of tourism, culture and economic development of Bac Ninh province to Israeli citizens and investors. It would contribute to strengthening cooperation between Israel and Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh in particular.

Speaking at the meeting, Israeli Ambassador Mr. Nadav Eshcar congratulated and highly appreciated the socio-economic achievements of Bac Ninh province in recent years. Bac Ninh and Israel have many similarities in terms of geographical conditions and economic development, which would be the basis for opening up opportunities for cooperation and promoting economic development between the two sides, the Ambassador addressed.

He wished to share the experience of economic development, building smart cities, high-tech agriculture. At the meeting, the Ambassador respectfully invited the provincial leaders to attend the Israeli Technology Fair in March 2018, which would show the latest technologies of the Israeli agriculture sector, contributing to agricultural development of the province.
