Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province marks 55th Anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province, in the afternoon of September 12th, solemnly held a ceremony with the attendance of representative delegates and members to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5th, 1962 - 2017) and the 40 years of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between two countries (July 18th, 1977 - 2017).
The ceremony welcomed the attendance of Mr. Ta Minh Chau, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Friendship Association of Vietnam-Laos and leaders of Bac Ninh province including Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ha SyTiep, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and representatives of over1,000 members in the province.
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province officially came into operation in 2008 with over 1,000 members who are former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts assisting Laos in conflicts. Since its establishment, it has made many diversified activities such as coordinating with Central Friendship Association of Vietnam-Laos, Vietnam-Thailand to actively participate in the program of "Following the footsteps of President Ho Chi Minh" in Laos and Thailand; searching and gathering 37 sets of martyrs remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers found in Huaphanh province; coordinating with other departments, agencies of the province to organize exchanges and give presents to Lao students studying in the province, etc.
The delegates, at the meeting, recalled their memories in joining fight and working in Laos, and proposed the development orientation of the Association in the future. By strengthening the personnel of the Association in terms of quantity and quality, and fulfilling operating regulations, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association would continue effectively implementing the activities of caring for the material and spiritual life of various members; encouraging members to actively take business in order to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. Furthermore, the Association would also pay more attention to the generations of Lao students studying in Bac Ninh, actively mobilize humanitarian organizations and provincial enterprises to organize exchanges and supports between the both sides aiming to obtain practical effects, and contribute to fostering the bilateral friendship between Vietnam and Laos./.
