Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee receives and works with KOICA’s experts delegation
In the morning of February 1st , Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee (PPC), met and worked with experts delegation of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on implementation of pilot project on "Energy Efficiency in Industry of Vietnam", which is one of the projects in the National Green Growth Strategy, in Bac Ninh province. Attending the meeting were leaders of departments and agencies: the Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Foreign Affairs, Provincial Institute of Socio-Economic Development Studies.
On behalf of the KOICA delegation, Mr. Won Hee Han, Project’s Manager, expressed his gratitude to the provincial leaders for their warm welcome. Mr. Won Hee Han added, there have been many Korean enterprises investing in Bac Ninh province, which is premise for the relationship between Korea and Vietnam in general, and Bac Ninh in particular to be further developed in the future. At the same time, Korean side would like to continue receiving the attention and support from the province so that the project could achieve the highest efficiency.
At the meeting, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Tien Nhuong thanked the KOICA delegation for supports to implement the project of energy efficiency in industrial sector in the province, at the same time briefed on geographic location and socio-economic development of the province. The Vice Chairman addressed, there are currently over 1,000 FDI enterprises investing in Bac Ninh with total investment capital of USD 16 billion, in which, Korean companies occupied USD 10 billion, contributing about 70% of industrial products of the province. With a strong development of industrial sector nowadays, the power consumption of the province is very high, about 5 billion kWh per year, accounting for 20% of the country's electricity consumption. Therefore, the issue of saving electricity is very important and always placed on the top.

Furthermore, the Vice Chairman Nguyen Tien Nhuong affirmed that Bac Ninh province would facilitate KOICA experts delegation to carry out the project and assigned the Department of Industry and Trade and the Institute for Socio-Economic Development Studies in coordination with the delegation of experts during the project’s implementation in order to achieve the highest efficiency.
