Provincial leader receives and works with American Bar Association (ABA)
In the afternoon of January 12th, Mr. Nguyen Huu Quat, Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee received and worked with American Bar Association Delegation (ABA) led by Ms. Hilarie Bass, ABA’s President. Attending at the working session were Mr. Nguyen Hanh Chung, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of relevant departments.
Addressing at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Huu Quat shared the geographical location and history of the province, as well as briefed on the overview of socio-economic development situation. The year of 2017 marked a considerable development of Bac Ninh with the impressive achievements in all fields since the year of re-establishment of the province (in 1997). The province has become a strong growth pole of the country, with a number of socio-economic and cultural indicators in the top rank.

Along with the socio- economic development, over the past few years, provincial leaders have always cared for and assisted Provincial Bar Federation in particular and judicial system in general, to enhance the performance, especially in the legal dissemination, popularization and training for people. The Standing Deputy Secretary expressed his wish that in the coming time, ABA and Vietnam Bar Federation (VBF) would enhance the coordination and professional exchange to improve the performance quality of lawyers nationwide in general and provincial lawyers in particular, as well as to strengthen the quality of legal dissemination, popularization and consultancy for citizens.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Hilarie Bass appreciated provincial leaders for the warm welcome and showed her impression about the cultural history and socio-economic development of the province. She also shared the results of the working session between ABA and VBF. Accordingly, both sides reached the considerable agreement in improving the code of professional conduct in litigation and legal consultancy to enhance the quality of performance of the lawyers and to make positive contributions to the community. She hoped that in the near future, ABA would have more chances to cooperate and exchange the professional experiences with VBF in general and Bac Ninh Bar Federation in particular.
Previously, the delegation worked with Bac Ninh Bar Federation and visited some historical and cultural sites of the province.
