Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh meets and works with the Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore
In the afternoon of January 10th, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee (PPC) received and worked with Ms. Tao Thi Thanh Huong, Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore. Attending the meeting were leaders of Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Planning and Investment, and Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Authority.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Chairman of the PPC, congratulated Ambassador Tao Thi Thanh Huong on her new appointment as the Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore. Furthermore, the Chairman briefed on the socio-economic development of the province in 2017, especially the situation of FDI attraction with achievement of over USD 3.5 billion, ranked second in the whole country. In particular, Singapore is one of the leading partners of Bac Ninh province and has devoted an important part to those achievements. Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Bac Ninh has become a model for attracting investment in the province. The province is also now in progress of finalization procedures, which aim at submitting to the Prime Minister for approval to the project of VSIP 2 in Yen Phong district.
The Chairman hoped the Ambassador to be the bridge to boost the diplomatic relations between Vietnam - Singapore in general and Bac Ninh - Singapore in particular, especially the bilateral cooperation in the mutual interest fields, with her responsibility and prestige.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Tao Thi Thanh Huong sincerely expressed her gratitude to the provincial leaders for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the achievements that Bac Ninh has obtained in recent years.

In 2018, Vietnam and Singapore will hold activities for celebrating the 45th anniversary of establishing Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations (1973-2018), 5th anniversary of strategic partnership of the two countries. In her position, the Ambassador affirmed that she would make more effort to join activities in Singapore to introduce and promote the images of Bac Ninh province to big investors, corporations and enterprises of Singapore and at the same time, call for their investment and cooperation in Bac Ninh, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province.
