1. To successfully held the 185th anniversary of establishment and 20th anniversary of re-establishment of the province
In 2017, a lot of activities have been taken to celebrate the 185th anniversary of establishment and 20th anniversary of re-establishment of the province. It was an opportunity to recall the cultural and revolutionary tradition of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac, as well as broadly disseminate cultural identity, people and socio-economic achievements of the province after 20 years of re-establishment to national and international friends. Patriotic emulation movements have also been launched to create position and power to build Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city in 2022.

2. The economic growth rate is twice as much as the plan
In 2017, Bac Ninh’s economic scale has continually expanded, with Gross Regional Domestic Product accounting for 3.11% of the nation’s GDP, ranking 4th nationally (increased by 2 levels than that in 2016). GRDP growth rate reached 19.12% (compared to 9.0-9.2% in the target).
3. Industrial production value reached VND 1 trillion
In 2017, industrial production developed at high level. The value of industrial production was estimated at VND 979,000 billion, ranking 2nd in the whole country (Ho Chi Minh city ranked 1st ).
4. Export turnover reached approximately USD 30 billion of the first time
The operation of foreign trade was impressive with the export turnover reached USD 29.85 billion, accounting for 14.9% of total national export turnover, maintaining the second position nationwide
5. Foreign Investment attraction ranked 2nd nationwide
The operation of investment attraction was enhanced with the open mechanism and solutions. In term of attracting FDI, Bac Ninh ranked 2nd nationally with 160 new projects and increased capital for 115 projects with the total registered capital post-adjustment reached USD 3.5 billion. Accumulating until now, Bac Ninh province has registered to invest 1,112 FDI projects with total registered investment capital post-adjustment of about USD 16 billion.

6. Domestic budget revenue exceeded the target in the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress
Total state budget revenue in the province reached approximately VND 21,597.7 billion; in which domestic revenue reached VND 16,137 billion. This data exceeded the target set by the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress issuing that domestic revenue reached 14,930 billion by 2020.
7. New Rural Development Program continually promoted
The New Rural Development Program has been strengthened. The average standardized criteria reached 18.14 criteria/commune, increasing to 0.94 criteria compared with 2016. 12 communes will be expectedly approved by the end of 2017, raising the total number of recognized communes to 70 communes, accounting for 72.1% of communes.
8. A breakthrough has been made in administrative reform
In 2017, the administrative reform created a breakthrough with the establishment and the effective operation of provincial administrative center and district administrative centers, which facilitate the people and enterprises in solving administrative procedures.
Along with that, the province has arranged the streamlined organization, reducing 11 units, implementing 335 online public services level 3,4, and 1,070 public administrative services through public postal services.
9. Many educational indicators were on the top of nation
Education and training have comprehensively developed forward sustainability. The educational universalization tasks at all levels have been continually concentrated. The accomplishment of educational universalization and illiteracy eradication tasks were at the highest level in the whole country. The facilities, teaching equipment have been invested synchronously. The rate of classroom solidification and national standard schools are at the highest levels of the country.

10. Leading the country on social welfare policy
Bac Ninh is one of the leading provinces in terms of social welfare policies, such as the policy on supporting the elderly aged 65 and above; providing electric lighting for the village and the neighborhood; expanding the beneficiaries of the school milk program to grade 1 and 2 which contribute to improving the living standard of people. In the last few years, household poverty rate gradually reduced; in 2017, it decreased to 2.06%.
