Bac Ninh People’s Provincial Committee: To hand certificate of investment registration on expansion project over to Samsung Display Vietnam

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Minister of Science & Technology; Mr. Nguyen Huu Quat, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council and members of the Standing Committee of People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Delegation of National Assembly and related Departments. Besides, there were General Director of Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd - Mr. Kweon Young Chan, leaders of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Samsung SDI as well.

Provincial Leaders handed Certificate and flower over to Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd. to congratulate on its investment expansion.

On February 14th 2017, Prime Minister decided to approve the adjustment in the project of Samsung Display Vietnam (SDV) in Yen Phong Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh province. The expansion of investment projects from 4 bil. USD in 2015 to 6.5 bil. USD in 2017 of SDV has increased its production capacity from 180 million to 220 million units/year, and thereby contributing significantly to the process of industrialization and economic – social development of the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Chairman of PPC excitedly announced these outstanding achievements in economics and society after 20 years of re-establishment with many leading indicators all over the country. Bac Ninh highly appreciated the contributions of Samsung in the overall development of the province. He also said that handing the investment ceterficate to SDV marked a new milestone, affirmed the safe, attractive, potential investment environment of Bac Ninh as well as the good relationship between Bac Ninh province and Samsung Group. On the view of companies’ success is the province’s one, Bac Ninh committed to facilitate their businesses. He expected that SDV would implement and disburse on schedule, coordinate closely with the related authorities of the province, take care of employees’ living, promote social welfare and build more beautiful images of Samsung - a friend, a special trusted partner of Bac Ninh.

General Directior of SDV, Mr. Kweon Young Chan praised the policy and environment of Bac Ninh to attract investment. He said that for the active help of the Government, related Ministries as well as authorities of Bac Ninh province, SDV had been speeding and gone into mass production. After 2 years, SDV had become the typical enterprise of Bac Ninh that specialized in manufacturing of products such as AMOLED screen, LCD with maximum size, etc. and strived to become a global pioneer in the manufacture of hi-tech monitors.

During the ceremony, in the presence of leaders of the provinces, Ministries and central Agencies, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the PPC, Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong signed the annex of project development with leader of SDV. /.
