Bac Ninh: Vietnam – Cuba Friendship exchange on the occasion of 64th anniversary of Moncada Barracks Attack
Among the activities marking 64th anniversary of Moncada Barracks Attack – Cuba’s National Day of Rebellion (26/7/1953 – 26/7/2017), in the afternoon of August 10th 2017, Delegation of officials of Cuban Embassy and Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association led by Mr. Herminio López Díaz – Ambassador of Republic of Cuba visited and had a friendship exchange in Bac Ninh province.
Receiving the delegation were: Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hanh Chung – Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Hang – Deputy Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members and leaders of some provincial departments and unions.
Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien - Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee presented souvenir to Mr. Ambassador of Cuba and Leader of Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee emphasized on the everlasting spirit of Moncada Barracks Attack, heroic Cuba and the loyal, heartfelt relationship between Parties, Governments and People of 2 countries established and developed by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro.
Mr. Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee warmly welcomed the Delegation to visit and exchange in Bac Ninh and also introduced briefly main points of Bac Ninh – Kinh Bac, where is “a sacred land with extraordinary people”, with rich historical traditions, culture, revolution and is the homeland of many historical - cultural famous people and former revolutionaries of the Party with melodious Quan ho folk songs. Taking advantages of available values, Bac Ninh has gained many important achievements in all fields for 20 years of re-establishment: ranking 6th by economic scale, 2nd by industrial output and export value, 5th by FDI attraction, 12th by contribution to state budget, 3rd by GDP per capital all over the country, etc.

On behalf of the Delegation, Mr. Ambassador Herminio López Díaz expressed his thanks to warmly welcome within full of cultural tradition of the homeland of Quan ho folk songs as well as the heartfelt affection Bac Ninh to the delegation in particular and Cuba in generally. He also expressed his pleasure to visit and have friendship exchange on the occasion of the great anniversary in Bac Ninh where is the land of historical tradition and culture being on the progress of strong development. It was also the opportunity for official of Cuban Embassy to understand the culture, history of Vietnam and directly witness the impressive and dynamic economic-social development in Bac Ninh.
To continue affirming closed, friendly relationship between 2 countries during the past time, Mr. Herminio López Díaz also affirmed: Cuba is willing to cooperate, support Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh in particular in bilateral cooperation, for mutual development.
Previously, in the same afternoon, the Delegation offered incense at Do Temple and the late Party General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu’s commemorative site in Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province./.
