Provincial leader receives and works with Lion Clubs Okayama Association (Japan)
In the morning of June 22nd 2017, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) received and worked with Lion Clubs Okayama Association (Japan) led by Mr. Daisaku Ono – Chairman of the Association on looking for business cooperation opportunities in Bac Ninh. Attending the meeting were representative leaders of: Provincial Fatherland Front, Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, People’s Committee of Bac Ninh city, Provincial Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and Provincial Association of Young Enterprises Club.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Vice Chairman of PPC thanked the delegation for their business trip and had a brief on socio-economic development of the province in recent years. Currently, Bac Ninh ranks 5th by economic scale, ranks 2nd by industrial production and export value nationally, is among top 10 state budget contributors, achieves annual income per capita at 5,000 USD and low poverty rate at only 2.59%. Highly appreciating Japanese investors’ attention to Bac Ninh, Mr. Vice Chairman also shared some more information to the delegation that there were 9 operating Industrial Parks in Bac Ninh with accumulative FDI by June 2017 of nearly 15 billion USD from 34 countries and territories. Particularly, Japan had 76 projects accounting for 1.3 billion USD of registered capital. In 2017, Bac Ninh had successfully organized many events: Cherry Blossom Exhibition and Japanese Enterprises Meeting; Cherry Blossom Trees Planting Ceremony (March 2017). Mr. Vice Chairman desired to receive more attention to invest and cooperate from Japanese investors in order to help Bac Ninh’s economy to develop more and more in the near future.
On behalf of Lion Clubs Okayama Association, Mr. Daisaku Ono had a brief introduction about the Association. Accordingly, Lion Clubs consists of 1,450 members, who are international young entrepreneurs, aims at charity and mutual supports in business. Members of the delegation wanted to implement business and cooperation in Vietnam, including survey of Bac Ninh’s investment environment. Currently, through Quinn Investment, Trade and Services Ltd., Co., Lion Clubs Okayama prepares to launch the first branch in Hanoi, which would be premise for expanding in Bac Ninh and other provinces, contributing to give the hand to the enterprises to have exchanges and supports each others in the process of developing their business.
On this occasion, Lion Clubs Okayama donated 180 million VND to build up 4 charitable houses for some poor households in the province./.
