Teachers and students from George High School (USA) visit and have cultural, educational exchange in Bac Ninh

Representatives of the delegation presented gifts to disadvantaged children at the Nourishing Center for Meritorious people and Social Protection

The delegation consisted of three teachers and eight students, led by Ms. Cheryl Ann Mellor, aimed to explore the country and people of Viet Nam through meetings with agencies and organizations of Vietnam, "homestay" in Hanoi, friendship visit and volunteer activities in Bac Ninh.

Welcoming the delegation at the Nourishing Center for Meritorious people and Social Protection, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Lan, Director of the Center said, the Center has the function of nourishing, health rehabilitation for social beneficiaries, working rehabilitation for disabled children according to the provisions of law. The Center currently manages and educates 170 disabled children, 24 orphaned children and a helpless child.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Cheryl Ann Mellor thanked the Center for the warm welcome and expressed, through the volunteer and caring activities for disabled children, the students of the Geogre High School would understand more about the efforts rising from the difficulties of the unfortunate people, thereby better understanding Vietnam’s people and the country. The delegation had also made a fundraising for the disadvantaged children in the Center recently.
