The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations: “International Friendship Exchange - spring 2017” in Bac Ninh
In the morning of March 4th, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations held “International Friendship Exchange 2017” in Bac Ninh. Attending the program were ambassadors and their spouses, representatives of central departments, agencies and leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations as well.
Receiving the delegation were Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang – Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Ha Sy Tiep – Chairman of Provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuc, Chairman of Bac Ninh Union of Friendship Organizations, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs and representatives of relevant agencies.
Speaking at the exchange program, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong warmly welcomed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, representatives of embassies to Vietnam and more than 250 delegates of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to Quan ho homeland Mr. Vice Chairman stressed that Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac had been known as "a sacred land with extraordinary people", filled with typical historical and cultural monuments of Vietnam since ancient time. Since ancient time, this homeland had always prided itself as the birthplace of Vietnamese people and culture and specially Quan ho Folk songs, which is recognized as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

Also, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed through 185 years of establishment and 20 years of re-establishment, Bac Ninh had achieved many important, comprehensive achievements with many indicators of social-economic development and welfare policy in the leading group of country. Nowadays, Bac Ninh becomes a modern industrialized province, aims to be a municipality - smart city in 2022.
With the love from Quan ho’s people, the land of "Ben hen", "Trang len", Mr. Vice Chairman desired to get the attention and effective supports from embassies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations on the various fields such as investment, cultural – social – economic development, contributing to make Bac Ninh’s development more and more comprehensive.
At the meeting, Mr. Herminio Lopez Diaz, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Cuba showed his gratitude to the Bac Ninh’s leaders for very traditional and warm welcome. It was an occasion for diplomatic agencies, internaitonal organizations and non-govermental organizations to understand culture, history of Vietnam, directly witnessed the active development of economy and society in Bac Ninh.
Before the meeting, the Delegation had paid their respects to Kinh Duong Vuong Temple in A Lu village, Dai Dong Thanh commune and visited Dong Ho folk paintings in Song Ho commune (Thuan Thanh district).
